Sing Me a Lullaby { A Daily Thought Thread } WIfxjpc

This is a personal thread made for my thoughts throughout the day. It's not a diary, rather, it's a journal to keep track of all my thoughts and my little wonderings about the world. Do not post, this is not a hangout, it is just a personal thread. However, feel free to read it.

Sing Me a Lullaby { A Daily Thought Thread } Empty Stages of Life.

Post by Sweetsunnyrain Fri Mar 29, 2013 11:50 am

The ideal life is split into three parts; the first, when you are the receiver, always the subject of love and care, the second, when you are the giver, the one who has gained knowledge on the way to raise another life, and bequeath to the object of your love everything you have. The third section of life- well that's when you continue to give, and give, and continue giving until you have nothing left. Then, you die happy.

This sort of reminds me of Shel Silverstein's book, The Giving Tree. The tree was at first nurtured until she grew, then she gave love to the innocent boy, who came to play in her branches. That sort of love is truly beautiful.

Sing Me a Lullaby { A Daily Thought Thread } Empty Please.

You clench your tiny fists, clench them as tight as you can, tighter than the death grip your mother had on your arm,

So tight that tiny half moon marks are imprinted into your palm after you remove them.

And it doesn’t hurt.

You turn, face against the door, bolted with every lock you can imagine, staring it in the face,

And you hit it. Once, twice, three times. You stand back, and take a look at your work.

Nothing is different. Nothing has changed. It’s still there, that door, no locks have broken at all.

So you stand back, and hit it again, with as much power as you can muster. You hit it again and again and again and again and again- when finally, a lock breaks. You smile; finally, something has given in. You look up again- but to your dismay, you find more locks in its place.

You come to the conclusion that you’re going to have to take that door down in one powerful hit. You take a few steps backwards, and begin to run, as fast as you can. Your legs shoot forwards, and kick at the door with a forceful thud.

You look up, and a heavy sensation pierces you; this door hasn’t budged. It hasn’t budged, and yet you’ve tried so hard. This is unfair. But then again, life is unfair.

Your hands ball up again, and you begin to pound on the door, “Open up!” you shout, “Open up!” You continue to hit the door, growing more frantic every minute, “Open up, goddammit!” There are tears in your eyes by now. Why won’t she listen to you? That timid girl on the other side of the door. You’re still dealing damage to that door as you think this. By the time you snap out of your thoughts, your hands are bleeding and your breath is ragged. You sink down, facing the door, your head on its splintery wooden frame.

Your voice is desperate, and you whisper the last words you’ll say to her for a while, “Please. I want to feel.”
